Journal of Biological Education: The First 50 years

As the current editor, I am delighted to present the first issue in the 50th anniversary
year of the Journal of Biological Education. I would like to take this opportunity to
publicly thank the previous editors of the journal (John Barker, Dave Phoenix and
David Slingsby), and colleagues who have served on the editorial board at various times
during this period to guide the journal through the evolving environment of biological
education.
I also need to thank the large number of colleagues from all over the world who have
given their time to review submissions. This work goes largely unseen, but is vital to
ensure the quality of the papers that finally make it to print within the pages of the
journal.
